Texas Town Elects to Shoot Strays!

Terrible news from Texas. I hate to depress you on New Years Day, but I think everyone needs to know when this sort of thing happens.

The rural town Ferris, in North Texas, has decided to legalize the shooting of stray dogs. The City Manager said they approved the policy because the area is a dumping ground for unwanted pets.

This sort of thing is dispicable in any place, particularly in our country where there are plenty of loving pet owners and fantastic rescue groups that would be happy to help these poor animals.

Idiot Mayor Caught Dumping Strays

Mayor James Valley of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, has been fined over $1900 for being a total freaking moron. More specifically, he ordered the release of 10 dogs in the middle of the forest deciding they were better “free” than being strays.He made this brilliant decision after deciding to lower the number of strays in the area after residents complained that the local shelter was too dilapidated to be adequate.

Two of the dogs were shot when seen on someone’s property. The rest were saved by Northeast Arkansans for Animals.

I know this news is a little old, but it fits the theme of Muttskis pretty well. Present Obama discussed adopting his new puppy from the pound in his first press conference on November 7. In his interview, he said he associates well with mutts, because they’re like him.
